What is it like to live in Vía Centenario?

Vía Centenario, on the stretch across from the Technological University of Panama (UTP), is a compact cluster of apartment complexes in the Ancón district, between Tumba Muerto (Vía Ricardo J. Alfaro) and Centennial. The main complexes are Torres de Toscana (4 towers), Torres de Milán (the Milán and Florencia towers) and the 12-storey Torres de Venecia.

It is one of the most affordable areas in the city to rent or buy a 2- or 3-bedroom apartment with a pool and a gatehouse: in October 2026, 2-bedroom rentals were listed at $650–$725 and 2-bedroom sales from about $90,000. That is why UTP students and staff, young couples and buy-to-let investors look here.

What is close: UTP's main campus about 650 m away, Centennial Plaza and its Rey supermarket about 800 m, Altaplaza Mall under 1 km and the Corredor Norte on-ramp about 1.4 km as the crow flies. Portals usually list these buildings as "Condado del Rey" or "Tumba Muerto"; here it is its own area, next to Condado del Rey and Altos de Panamá.

Pros

  • Among the lowest prices in the city for a condo with pool and 24 h gatehouse.
  • Across from UTP: steady rental demand from students and staff.
  • MiBus stops at the door.
  • Altaplaza, Centennial and supermarkets under 1 km away.
  • Quick access to the Corredor Norte and the Centennial Bridge.

Things to know

  • Small apartments (most 64–90 m²).
  • No nearby Metro station (the closest is ~1.4 km away).
  • Rush-hour traffic on Tumba Muerto and Vía Centenario.
  • Buildings from 2005 to 2018: check each tower's condition and HOA fee.
